Another option for injectable epinephrine is set to hit the market this year. Sondoz Pharmaceuticals a division of Novartis has a prefilled epinephrine syrine which should be available in 2019. This device joins epi-pen, epi-pen mylan generic, adrenaclick and AuviQ as treatment for anaphylaxis. Symjepi differs from the current devices because it is not an “autoinjector” but rather it’s a prefilled syringe. One must manually press the plunger in order to inject the epinephrine. Currently, a 0.30mg dose is available with pediatric doses set to follow. Auvi Q is the only product autoinjector with 3 doses available 0.30mg, 0.15mg, and 0.10mg. Ultimately, it is noce to see options available for our patients. If you haven’t been in for a while, need a refresher on your anaphylaxis/food allergy action plan, or need refills on your medications give us a call to set up an appointment. 805-482-8989https://www.sandoz.com/news/media-releases/sandoz-inc-launches-symjepi-epinephrine-us
